What Is the Revelian Test?

Revelian, now rebranded as Criteria, is a company that provides pre-employment testing and assessments to help employers evaluate potential candidates. The better you score on the Revelian test, the better your chances are for being hired.

Types of Revelian Tests

There are 14 Revelian tests in which you might encounter, and each falls into one of three categories: aptitude tests, personality tests, and workforce tests. Let’s take a look at each test closely to help you prepare for your upcoming assessment.

Aptitude Tests

Aptitude tests measure your skills in specific areas. Revelian has 5 aptitude tests:

Revelian Cognitive Ability Test (RCAT)

This standard cognitive ability test looks at general aptitude to predict your work habits, such as learning, organizing, retaining and applying information. The RCAT is a 20-minute test containing 51 questions that test verbal, numerical, or abstract reasoning skills.

Revelian Abstract Reasoning Test (RART)

The RART looks at your ability to understand patterns from diagrams and shapes and use that information to answer 32 questions in 10 minutes.

Revelian Numerical Reasoning Test (RNRT)

The RNRT measures your ability to use numerical information to solve problems. This test contains 25 questions, and you have only 12 minutes to complete it.

Revelian Verbal Reasoning Test (RVRT)

The RVRT looks at how well you understand and apply written information. You are given 35 questions and 10 minutes to answer.

Cognify

Revelian’s Cognify is an innovative game-based test that looks at your problem-solving, numerical reasoning, and quick-thinking on the job. Instead of using questions, there are six mini-assessments in which you might be asked to take five or six of them. It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Personality Tests

Personality tests are often untimed and are used to determine how compatible your personality is for the job type and work environment. Though you can’t fail a personality test, you can score in a way that reflects your suitability to that particular job. There are 5 Revelian personality tests:

  1. 16 Personality Questionnaire (16PF): Revelian’s 16PF Questionnaire lets your potential employer know how you might act and respond to the work environment and team. There are 170 multiple-choice questions on the personality questionnaire. It generally takes 30 minutes to finish.
  2. Revelian Behavioural Profile (RBP): The RBP looks at how you behave on the job by asking you 24 questions about your current job. These questions look at how you approach difficult situations, work with team members, and respond to your work environment’s policies, pace, and procedures. It takes around 10 minutes to complete.
  3. Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT): The MSCEIT measures your emotional intelligence, leadership skills, and ability to use interpersonal communication in the workforce. There are 141 questions, which are based on facial images, pictures, scenarios, and emotional situations. The test takes around 40 minutes to finish.
  4. Revelian Values Inventory (RVI): The RVI looks at your work values and asks you to rank 20 given, work-related characteristics from most to least important. The more your answers match with the employer’s desired traits, the more likely you are to be considered for the job. This test takes about 10 minutes to finish.
  5. Emotify: Revelian’s Emotify is an interactive game that measures your emotional intelligence by looking at how well you can identify other peoples’ emotions by looking at faces and scenarios. There are two mini-assessments that take about 20 minutes in total to complete.

Workforce Tests

Revelian Skills Tests

Skills tests are specific to the job in which you are applying. Other than typing tests, most skills tests have no time limit but take around 20-30 minutes in total.

Revelian Work Preferences Profile (RWPP)

This untimed test examines your vocational preferences to predict your job satisfaction. There are 84 questions consisting of two tasks that you must choose between based on your personal preferences.

Revelian Work Reliability Scale (RWRS)

The RWRS looks at how honest and trustworthy you are on the job. It also looks at how you view theft and whether or not you are strict about work issues. This untimed assessment contains 54 statements in which you select to what level you agree or disagree.

Revelian Work Safety Assessment (RWSA)

The RWSA aims to predict how seriously you take work safety measures and how well you focus on safety in the workplace. There are two versions of this test: a short version consisting of 49 questions, and long version containing 77 questions. The test takes around 10 minutes to complete, depending.
